Journalist 70 years ago..

Journalism has change so much in the last 70 years. From the way its reported, corrected, published, and printed. What caught my attention the most was the jobs women had as journalist. News papers only gave women jobs and articles that had to do with cleaning, cooking, ironing, and decorating. Now women are a huge part of journalism and some carry very important roles in journalism.

Protest!

After reading the stories i notice that the stories give good information but they have different points of view. New York times looks more from the polices stand point, where the Daily News looks more toward the protestors point and the lawyers point of view. Although both articles are good i liked reading The Daily News article more.

As a Journalist:

Museum Article

If I were to write an article on a museum for a national audience there would be a lot of thought you would need to put into this process. I would have to decide who to interview, how to organize it and what main points I would focus on throughout the article.
My interviewing process would probably start with the owner of the museum. I would ask him what his focus was from the beginning, the cost of starting the museum, what his next step is, and what he would change if he could go back.
My main focus would be to establish what my goal is as a journalist and the main goal of what the museum goals are. I believe by doing this it would give the public a more broad outlook on what to expect before the come in to the museum. As doing this I believe the main point will come out throughout my article.

How to write a great news story..

Surtees like to surprise his reader by using things like a good hook, the whammy, and the kicker these are all good to keep the reader interested. I enjoy having surprises during a story because it keeps me glued to what im reading.

He is the author of " the little green book that never goes away" but i have not yet ordered the book yet.
I enjoyed his tips i believe i will use some of them in my writtings such as, focus, rewrite, and simplify. I think the easier read is always the better read.
Hard news is immediate, or breaking news that can not wait for publication. Soft news is a story that can wait for publication, it is usually about a on goiung event or interesting person. I would rather write a story on hard news because it seems to be more interesting. Now a hard lead is suited for urgent breaking news events. where as soft lead is more for feature writting. I would rather write a soft lead story because it would give me more of a background story.

People in my feild would use blogs to get closer to their clients in a more personal feild. My career is a sales repersentative and i believe this is a good way to connect to my clients and ask their opinions in certain things.

I think blogs are a great way to get other peoples points of view on topics that could have different opinions on the same topic.
